About

Dumisani Hompashe is a Lecturer of Economics at the University of Fort Hare in Alice in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.


He is responsible for the teaching and learning of economics at various undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There he also conducts research and supervises several postgraduate students..

He has taught more than 500 people from a variety of working backgrounds including Government employees, private sector employees, educators and business persons


Dumisani holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics and English from UNISA, a Master of Commerce degree (Financial Markets) from Rhodes University and a Secondary Teachers’ Diploma from Griffiths Mxenge College of Education. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD study at Stellenbosch University.


He has published several research papers and a book entitled "Is inflation targeting a viable option for developing countries" with Lambert publishers.
